Decent ski resorts with panoramic views
While Germany doesn’t have the big ski arenas of France or Austria, it does have great ski resorts with picturesque villages and wonderful views of the Bavarian Alps. Aswell as skiing the pistes, many of these resorts offer other wintersorts like tobogganing, ice skating, curling and many more, making them fabulous places to visit even if you're not a skier or snowboarder.
Famous resorts like Oberstdorf, home to the giant ski jumps - and used during the filming of "Eddie The Eagle", link seven mountain peaks crossing over into Austria. Home of the 1936 Winter Olympics, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is famous for its annual ski races and a lift pass here covers 8 different resorts.
Also close to the airport at Munich are the resorts of Winklmoosalm-Steinplatte, Sonthofen, Oberjoch Bad Hindeland, Fellhorn Kanzelwand, as well as many more smaller resorts that are perfect for a quieter ski experience slightly off the beaten track, but ones that will definitely be memorable and not disappoint.
